Double Standard of “We” as a Society

 

As I grew up as an individual I met a lot of teachers. They taught me a few basic things of life. I believe as a student in those things, let me remind myself of those: 

Father – “Son you have to speak truth. Good people only speak truth. A lie is a bad thing”

Teacher – “Students, you should only speak the truth in your life”

In court – “Whatever you will speak, you will only speak the truth”

So I believed that truth is something very basic for any action. I believed that abusing someone is also bad. But then I never knew about the real future. I never knew about the “Real World”, “Real Society”.

In reality, when I grew up, I saw entirely opposite of that. I  saw that we happily support the lies and are even ready to fight for them. We on our own,  start speaking lies and start defending them.  I asked the reason for this from my friends and they told me these things-

“No-one speaks the truth nowadays. It is practically not possible Dude”

“I am not abusing, I am only copying some celebrity”

“How can I let my frustration kill me. So I abuse. Chill, it’s normal”

“What they have done right? So I try to teach them by pointing out their errors”

“If I am wrong, then you are also not right. Stop the discussion.”

I was shocked to see that we are wasting time of our children by trying to teach them irrelevant things. In the age of internet – “No abusing” and “Speaking truth” are like “I have seen a spirit” to them. We should stop teaching such useless things to our children. Because even teachers, businessmen and social workers are supporting the liers and abusers by defending them like their son or daughters. We need to change a lot in our course curriculum for children. Education should be relevant to the present time, its culture and behaviors. We should stop teaching children that truth is important in your life. People are earning money and fame because of a lie, and even we are supporting them with zeal. For all those children growing up in this era, if they will start believing in false allegations and lies, then it will be helpful for them for survival. It will bring confidence to them to walk with other similar kind of creatures, or we can say in a herd. And trust me they are learning. Watching abusive videos, playing blame games , useless aggression and direction-less life is all over them. They are learning a lot. They are learning them by themselves, but they are only grasping these things from their environment. When they will see people prospering with greed, lie and violence inside, then why will they think of truth, sanity and respect. We should understand these aspects and should stop our children from such double standards. Give them free atmosphere to abuse and lie in the house because at the end of the day, we appreciate such actions by other people. We term such entities as “Great”, then why wasting time and energy in traditional ethics, morals, etc. Let's not force our children to become a double standard creature.

We should be open enough to accept a thing completely. Let’s start with this abusive and Lie culture.
