Think and Act – Poll Smart Delhi

Being a Delhite it is amazing to see the stance of media. This is the same media that was not stopping any day from telecasting the Rape issues has suddenly gone mum on it. Congrats, Delhi is now safe. No more “Rape Capital”. Wow! What a sudden change. Police is now in control and no more tensions about it. I think we should have elections 12 months in a year, so that there will be no problem.  Being a Delhite I am sure the problems haven’t ended. And no one is actually bothered about it. It seems that during election time people only think about elections. But even we don’t think about the election because the election is just a time pass to us. Do we really elect the people looking at our problems and the candidate profile or we just elect a person based on our aggression, our party preference and our blindness. For me as a Delhite whosoever wins will not help me anyway if they will only create chaos. I am not an experience social servant, but I could really feel that Delhi needs a CM who can think for the major Issue first. I have been watching news channel for the past 3 to 4 years and I must say that “Women Safety” should be the first priority for my city. I am not sure what will happen after the election, whether the MEDIA will show those misbehaving attitudes again in the news as they were doing until the last month or they will continue to follow politics. Being a man I might be busy watching world cup, but the issue will remain an issue until someone will do something to solve it.

In general, when we recruit someone to solve our problem, then we look at their intention and also their work experience in the same field. We also inquire that whether they have the guts to do something they believe is right, even at the cost of going against their own system. All said and done, we actually look at their experience on the ground. Do we really see it when we elect someone for our own area? Does any news channel compare it for us? Isn’t it strange? They compare statistics of cricket players during matches or tournaments, but why they don’t compare the work of all candidates, so that the voters can judge on their own. Why they create such a fuzz that only doubt and blames surfaces from the discussion.

There is a lot of discussion about corruption. Lot of people believe they can eradicate that. But what is corruption?  According to wikipedia- “In philosophical, theological, or moral discussions, corruption is spiritual or moral impurity or deviation from an ideal” So in short we all are corrupted because we know the moral stand, we know our impurities and we also know that we don’t believe in “ideal”. What I might take away from this definition is that may be corruption for us is only monetary (kind of robbery without proof). So if somebody can give us the monetary benefit we start believing that corruption has gone down, but in reality it is not, because at the end of the day we are similar to what we were yesterday. My only concern is that do we really know what we want. Why the media can’t show all the candidate equally by showing their positive and negative sides? Why they have to chose one and criticize another? Is media really the 4th pillar of democracy? Democracy is not biased, I guess?

So in the end, I just want to realize that whether I am improving on my own or I just want others to correct me or both. Am I choosing a person because of the facts and experience looking at the problems I am facing or I am just electing because I am fed up with someone else because of my disappearing perseverance. Delhi has to decide what they want. No-one is perfect and no-one will ever be. We can only make choice based on best possible available in the current situation. Which glass I have to wear is my choice and this goes to ever Delhite. I will definitely say that no-one would be wrong because people at times elect because of their bad past experiences. I would rather prefer to vote who have a firmer ground on deliverance and experience. No matter whichever party, we need solutions and implementations. I know we all will chose best possible options. Lets Rock Delhi
